Variant of Semisolid Platform

White Blocks[1] are special Semisolid Platforms appearing in Super Mario Bros. 3 and its corresponding game style in Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Mario Maker 2. They appear only in grasslands, and they are white plain-colored blocks with bolts in the corners. In Super Mario Bros. 3, if the player crouches on them for about six in-game seconds, the player will fall behind the stage where most objects are. If the player reaches the goal while in the background, as possible in World 1-3, they are transported to a special Toad's House to receive a Magic Whistle.

In the Super Mario Maker games, the player will only do a small hop if they crouch on a White Block for approximately five seconds. In this case, a special sound effect plays. This is an Easter egg referencing the White Blocks' behavior from the original game.
